We’ve got answers. Here’s everything you need to know about our Electric Buses.
Roam offers two fully electric bus models. The Roam Rapid is a 12-meter low-floor city bus built for high-capacity transport, while the Roam Move is a 10-meter high-floor shuttle bus tailored to the matatu sector and urban shuttle services.
The Roam Rapid delivers a range of over 360 kilometers, even when fully loaded with passengers. The Roam Move offers a range between 200 and 300 kilometers, depending on the selected battery configuration, ideal for daily city routes, with optional top-up charging during the day.
Both Roam Rapid and Roam Move support DC fast charging and can be fully charged in as little as 1.5 hours. This ensures minimal downtime and greater operational efficiency for transport operators.
Roam Rapid accommodates between 77 and 90 passengers, combining both seated and standing capacity for high-volume transit. Roam Move comes in two layout options, either 51 seats in a 3x2 configuration or 41 seats in a 2x2 configuration, offering flexibility depending on route demands.
Roam’s electric buses reduce operational costs by eliminating fuel expenses and minimizing maintenance. With no diesel and fewer mechanical components, operators experience fewer breakdowns and lower servicing needs, resulting in better margins and improved fleet reliability.
Yes, Roam buses are compatible with solar energy systems as well as conventional grid charging. This makes them suitable for both urban environments and off-grid locations where energy access may vary.
Roam works with local financial partners to provide lease-to-own and flexible financing models. These options lower the barrier to entry for operators looking to adopt electric buses without significant upfront costs.
Roam buses are designed and assembled in Kenya, using insights from local transport conditions to ensure they are durable, efficient, and well-suited for African roads and commuter needs.
