Fast charging where time matters. Waterproof when conditions change. Intelligent where visibility counts. Durable where reliability is everything.
Electric mobility in Africa was never going to succeed by simply replacing fuel. It had to solve something bigger. It had to work for riders who move every day, businesses managing fleets, for roads that change with the weather, for people who depend on uptime to earn. That is what shaped the Roam Air Gen 3.
The latest generation introduces a redesigned battery system focused on four things:
Faster charging
Waterproof protection
Smart tracking and visibility
Real-world durability
Because for riders, performance is not measured in specifications, but measured in whether the motorcycle is ready again tomorrow.

Fast Charging Built Around Real Life
Charging should not stop the day. It should fit into it.
The Roam Air Gen 3 battery delivers more than 1 km of range for every minute of charging, reaching 20% to 80% charge in under 45 minutes. But speed alone was not enough. The experience also needed flexibility.
Riders can charge:
- At home using a portable charger
- Through Roam Point fast chargers
- Through Roam Hubs
With dual batteries, the Roam Air Gen 3 delivers up to 160 km of range, helping riders operate longer while reducing downtime.
Built for Rain, Roads and Unpredictable Conditions
Work does not stop when it rains. Neither should the motorcycle. The Roam Air Gen 3 battery was engineered with IP67 waterproof protection, allowing it to withstand water exposure and demanding environments. The battery was built to keep moving on rain, flooded roads and unexpected conditions
Its industrial-grade aluminium casing also improves protection while supporting better heat management and long-term performance. Because reliability should not depend on weather.
Testing the Waterproof Capability
To demonstrate the battery’s waterproof capability, we placed the Roam Air Gen 3 battery underwater. Then removed it. Placed it back into the motorcycle, and it continued operating.
The goal was simple: Show what IP67 means in practice. Not only on paper.
Power is only part of reliability. Visibility matters too.
The Roam Air Gen 3 introduces integrated GPS tracking and smart battery monitoring, giving riders and fleet operators better control over their operations.
The battery can be monitored through the Roam App, providing visibility into: Battery location, state of charge, performance monitoring and anti-theft support.
For fleets, this means better asset management. For riders, it means more confidence. Because reliability is also knowing where your battery is and how it is is performing.

Durability Beyond the Lab
Durability is often presented as a specification. For riders, it means something different. It means: Will it survive rough roads? Will it keep working? Will downtime be avoided?
The Roam Air Gen 3 battery uses an industrial-grade die-cast aluminium casing engineered to improve structural strength and long-term reliability. But engineering claims needed proof. So we tested it.
18-Tonne Truck Test
We placed the battery on the road. An 18-tonne truck drove over it. The battery was recovered, reinstalled and continued operating.
The purpose was not spectacle but to demonstrate the environments the battery was built for. Because for commercial riders: Equipment failure means lost income, durability protects uptime and uptime protects earnings.
